Eating Right For Your Metabolic Type???
I just finished devouring the book Eat Right for your Metabolic Type by Naturopath Cass Ingram. I first heard Dr. Ingram on radio station WBAI in NYC. I was very impressed by what he had to say. Other folks appear to be impressed too-the book is sold out on both amazon and barnesandnoble.com.
So much of the book made sense and after taking the tests in the book I have determined myself to be Thyroid/Adrenal type. I designed a whole new protocol of supplements based on the principles in this book.
These supplements include:
- B-Complex
- Vitamin C
- A supplement just to support the Adrenal Gland
- A supplement just to support the Thyroid Gland
- Cod Liver Oil (for necessary Omega 3 fatty acids)
- GTF Chromium
- Selenium
- Digestive Enzymes
- Silica(not mentioned in the book just something that I feel is beneficial to me)
- Book specified Multiple Spice Extract a blend of oregano, cumin and cinnamon (which I ordered and expect to receive later in the week)
All I can say ramping up to this regimen starting today -- I had very low cravings for sugar despite not having an ideal lunch. I'll update this thread as time goes on.
Has anyone else found a supplement regimen that has boosted your efforst to eat / live healthier???
Note! This book is not to be confused with "Eat Right for your Type" by Dr. D'Adamo.
Another good day on my new regime. I took another queue from the book and drank a glass of freshly prepared OJ today for breakfast. The OJ supposedly feeds the adrenals. I also ordered some Yacon Root syrup. It is native of Peru and supposedly has ZERO Glycemic index. It is also supposed to be delicious. I'll post about that once I get it.
I just received the rest of my supplements today from vitacost.com Even without the multispice extract and Adrenal and Thyroid stuff I definitely see a difference in my blood sugar levels. Very amazing. I'll incorporate them in slowly(the best way) over the next few weeks....
